Armin van Buuren will debut his fifth artist album this May having announced the released date for ‘Intense’ a few weeks ago. He’s been working on it for the past three years and is a much anticipated album for many trance fans. The debut single from the album ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ is already on the loose and was premiered on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection last month with Armin describing the new sound of his album to be house / electro for the most part with a b it of trance and rock influence. The official tracklist for the album was released this week with a total of 16 all new tracks.

The new album features no less than ten vocal tracks with Armin enlisting the likes of Fiora, Trevor Guthrie, Aruna, Laura Jansen, Emma Hewitt and Richard Bedford to provide the harmonics for his new tracks. Why so many vocal tunes you may wonder? They get better radio plays is my answer. I don’t think this album is one which Armin will be setting the trance purists ears alight like they were with Solarstone’s last album ‘Pure’ or the underground ‘WKO’ from John 00 Fleming. With the global reach of Armin this album looks to be aimed at a wider audience.

ARMIN ONLY - THE INTENSE EDITION

We only have one track to go so far so I’d reserve judgment until the other tracks start to see the light of day, which may well be very soon as the album will be released on the 3rd May. Coming back this year to go alongside the album is a brand new Armin Only Intense edition o the 15th November with Armin taking you on a 7 hour journey of his latest artist soundtrack. As with any album, a tour is mandatory and the Intense tour dates will be announced over the next few weeks.
