Pukka Up Kick-Starts Ibiza 2013 With A Bang!
Five-star party brand, Pukka Up, officially opened its 2013 Ibiza season last week with six sell-out boat parties, 1,000 dancing revellers and an all-night after party held at the iconic, Pacha. Glasses were raised to not only mark the beginning of a 17-week long season, but to celebrate Pukka Up’s 10 year reign as Ibiza’s original and number one sunset boat party.
Every Tuesday and Friday from 31 May to the season closing on 27 September, Pukka Up will sail over 200 sunset boats along the shores of Ibiza’s hotspots, and throw over 30 after parties at the island’s most prolific super clubs.
From the Playa d’en Bossa Jetty each Tuesday and Friday, punters can board Ibiza’s biggest party boat with a capacity of 300 - which is exclusive to Pukka Up this year - for an afternoon of the best house music from an array of resident DJ talent. Like-minded clubbers can unite on the aforementioned days at the pre-parties held at the beautiful Delano Beach Club.
Alternatively on Tuesdays and Fridays, party-goers can board one of five boats that set sail from the San Antonio Marina – five packed boat parties on the sun drenched Med is a spectacle to behold! The pre-party for the San Antonio boats is held at the Pukka Up bar which was newly opened in 2012 and is a must-visit destination in itself.
Situated next door to Plastik, the bar has been refurbished for 2013 with a new VIP area including booths fitted with iPads to order your bottles, food or even a taxi to Pacha. It boasts a new DJ box and has had an overhauled layout for maximum space - it’s now a club with a bar capacity.
As part of Pukka Up’s 10 anniversary revamp, its official, boat after parties have moved homes. Tuesdays see Pukka Up join forces with Together at Amnesia, where they’ll be tearing the party up alongside the likes of Skrillex, Sub Focus, Chase & Status, Pendulum and Afrojack, whilst Fridays see a coming together with the new INSANE party at Pacha, with hosts including John Digweed, Steve Lawler, Joris Voorn, Umek and Derrick Carter.
A week clubbing in Ibiza can raise eyebrows with the bank manager, so Pukka Up has come up with an offer too good to refuse with an advanced pre-sale at £52.50 which is cheaper than buying on the island. Ticket holders can gain entry to both the boat and after parties, leaving more than enough euros for the drink fund! Coaches are also provided to whisk punters to the clubs, with just enough time built in to change from beachwear to party outfit.
Also new for 2013 are the two Pukka Up Boutiques situated downtown San Antonio and on the beach, stocking Pukka Up’s new line of merchandise including men and women’s tees, sunglasses and flip flops.
It’s taken 10 years for Pukka Up to perfect its boat party formula, which is why no-one has even come close to recreating its unique vibe or the demand for parties on the water enjoyed by Pukka Up. With one event of the season under its belt and hundreds more to go, the future is certainly hot – the future is Pukka Up.
