© Steven HoneThis is an interview with an amazing producer! Orion Too have created some great tracks in the past including You And Me which is really great with new remixes now available in the shops, including Tomx & Steve Cypress mixes!

Where are you from and when did u start producing, Tell us a bit about
I am from Belgium (Brasschaat, near Antwerp), in 1989 I was asked by a
club-owner to make a themetrack for the club Confetti's.
'Sound of C' was born and sold more than 150.000 copies only in Belgium,
later other countries followed. Confetti's became one of the most important
artists in the belgian New Beat scene. 4 platinium Records in a row

Do you also DJ, which clubs, any live performances?
Yes I am a DJ, for 11 years I was a residential DJ in one of the biggest
clubs of Antwerp (Highstreet +/- 3500 people) still playing every friday in
a smaller club (Barcles +/- 1500 people). Last summer I did a live
performance on Crete (Greece) Criti Open Dance Arena, pretty cool ! ( Johan
Gielen, Tiesto, Carl Cox, DJ Jurgen performed there too)

What is your motto of life?
Enjoy every minute you can !

At what age did you find your love for music?
In the craddle !

What made you get into music seriously and how has it changed you?
Music has always been a big part of me, so I was lucky to make it my
profession.
I don't think it changed me, I still am who I am.

Who gave you your first record deal?
CIM, a small independent record company.

What labels are you associated with now with your various alias' and
partnerships?

Mostiko, Earcrash, Subliminal, Byte, Ministry of Sound, EMI Records, SONY,
VALE, BMG, Blanco Y Negro, Epic NY, Universal, Alabianca, Media Records,
Nukleuz.....

Where did you go clubbing?
Nowhere, I was always the DJ !

What djs you listened to then..and now?
Tiesto, Pete Tong, Johan Gielen, Push...

Whats your all time favourite track? and your current favourite(s)? and how about your favourite own production
Leave in Silence (Depeche Mode)
Close Cover (Minimalistix) God (Marco V) Thrill Me (Junior Jack)....
'A Forest' Remix for Minimalistix

What equipment do you use to produce your tracks?

Monitoring : NS-10
Quested (small and big system)
FX : Lexicon 300 L
Eventide
Yamaha SPX-900/SPX-990

Samplers : Akai S-1100/EMU 4 Ultra

Do you get "inspirations" for tracks or do you just take it as it comes, how do you go about writing songs? Any inspirations? And where do you get the ideas from??
Most of the time we start from scratch, and we'll see where it takes us.
It depends a little bit on the job. A new synth or a new sample-cd can do
wonders.

The question that always has to be asked for famous people:any advice for the wannabe's?
Keep trying. Some day ..........

What do you do other than produce and DJ?
Being a good father for my 3 kids and a good husband for my wife of course.

The ever-reoccuring question: what do you think of mp3s? and how has this developed the trance scene?
Its a nice, easy and cheap way to get your music all over the world. But I
hope that people who like my music will go to the stores and buy the record
!!!

Do you like many other genres of music? Pop, house, techno, club etc..?
like very much Groove and tech-house.

Have you visited [i:Vibes]? And do you plan on visiting [i:Vibes] on a regular basis after this interview?
