Last year Kosheen joined the dance scene by lifting two singles from their album Resist. These two singles “Hide U” and “Catch” got a very good remix package which made the two tunes widely accepted on the dance floors. This year, they are back with another hit called “Hungry” which is once again remixed by top producers.
The remixes exist on two vinyls. The first are Tiesto Remixes and the other vinyl are Satoshi Tommie remixes, both white labels for me. The official release got both main mixes on the same vinyl.
Tiesto Vocal Remix While hearing this remix it is like going back to the roots of Tiesto. It got the same vibe as Delerium – Silence Remix. It is uplifting and vocals are the main number on the track. It starts with some steady beats and percussion on the background. It throws a similar effect as what he used with Delirium and while it goes steady, teasing vocals are coming in slowly. After a while, full vocals are upon us, taking complete control of the track. It got a nice break around the middle with piano and vocals working together while synth sounds take care about the background. It keeps this semi-chill out temper all the way, with vocals around all the time. A superb old school remix from Tiesto.
Tiesto Dub It starts exactly as the vocal remix so also the vocals are the same. It is a bit faster than the vocal one. It is supposed to be a dub version so the full vocals are a bit confusing. However, there are small difference between the tracks, some of the vocals are more located in the background with filters but still, a lot of vocals exist. It also got exactly the same break. I believe that it could have been made more dubby than just sending some of the vocals through filters.
Satoshi Tomiie Vocal Remix It starts with a synth sound and it gets straight on a steady-like Satoshi beat. The 'build up' is going on with some synth sound coming from behind. The beat stops and euphoric uplifting sounds come in. Also some tribal elements join on this progressive tune. Offcourse the vocals are here too, going along with the beat without dropping tempo. There isn’t much more to say, excellent remix from Satoshi Tommie. It is a progressive monster and a must for all the progressive and Satoshi fans.
Satoshi Tomiie Dub On this dub you can find the dark side of Satoshi. Deep and dark as it can be. It is real masterpiece for the true progressive people. There are no vocals to spoil their mood. Just think about the vocal remix without vocals. I believe it can make more damage than vocal one. It drops you on your own world.
To make a long story short, Tiesto and trance fans are going to love his remix and, as usual, progressive people are going to get mad on the Satoshi Tomiie job. He is one of the best producers at the moment. Another massive cracker for BMG!.
