The brand new artist album 'We Are Lucky People' from Lange is just over a month away. He's dropped one of the singles to be featured on it with a gorgeous vocal trance offering called 'Fireflies'. If this is a sign of things to come, the album should be a real ripper...
You could call Lange one of the true veterans of the trance scene ever since setting it alight in 1999 with records like ‘Follow Me’ and ‘Drifting Away’. Having had a string of very successful singles it did take him some time to release his debut artist album back in 2007 with the suitably names ‘Better Late Than Never’. It’s been three years since his last long one ‘Harmonic Motion’ and just on cue three years after it, he’s ready to unleash the third ‘We Are Lucky People’. The signs are very promising if his latest single, which will feature on it, are to go by! He’s enlisted the vocal talents of Cate Kanell for a very smoothly uplifting trance offering called ‘Fireflies’.

Lange is an artist who has a very recognisable sound, even when he lets rip with something a little bit out of the box you can still hear that Lange touch on it. Fireflies has that Lange touch in abundance and any tune that you feel the need to whack on straight after your first listen has a tendency to be a little special. I’ve found Fireflies so addictive it’s been tempting not to put it on a straight repeat. It’s got all the elements of a smoothly formulate uplifting Lange track, with a touch of piano, addictive percussion, ripping bass lines and an outrageously catchy vocal. The quality of the production here is superb and I dare you not to be addicted to the snappy kick Lange has put on this. The track is flowing, builds up the feeling with gorgeous melodies and a superb vocal from Cate and doesn’t loose any of its uplift after the main break. The melody sweeps you in and the main riff knocks you off you feet, this one is truly superb!
Conclusion:
This is the best Lange single I've heard for a while and a great teaser to what should be an essential album! If you like uplifting trance with big melodies and that vocal element then this single should be right down your ally! No remixes needed for this, but you can be sure whoever does one has a big task to better the original!
