Low Pressings gave me a glimpse of their world-have a peak at what i saw>>

When was the label first set up?
"In the autumn of 1996"

How did the label come about?
"The main reason was an outlet for Clive Henry/ Justin Drake / Marvin Beavers work.....as they were getting knock backs elsewhere.
Justin and Clive are now Peace Division and Marvin went on to become Dylan Rhymes!!"

Who started the label?
"Clive Henry (Peace Division) and Rocky (X Press 2) They have been mates for over 20 years!"

Is it still run by the same person now? or has there been a change in management?
"Well due to the massive success of Peace Division and X Press 2, Clive and Rocky can not be in the office every day. Whilst both remain directors and take care of all the A&R - the label has been managed for the last 2 years by Janet. Very much a family affair as Janet is the mother of Clives 2 children (Rocky is their sons god father!)
Prior to Janet taking the helm there was a very bad 2 year period as the label was being managed by an outside management company (who shall remain nameless) Low Pressings were nearly bankcrupt - so there has been a massive turn around in the last 2 years!

What was the first release for "low pressings"?
and further:Was there a specific genre that "low pressings" tried to issue?
The first release was by Soul Purpose and was "Untitled" Soul Purpose were actually Justin and Clive (Peace Division)!! I think you could say originally Low Pressings were into all things deep to begin with. "

Has the "low pressings" sound changed through time?
"I suppose slight variations on the deep vibe, although we have been catergorised as tribal, dark, deep etc! "
