Let Pete Tong guide you through a brief history of his finest house music anthems from the very late 80's right up to the present day with the Pete Tong Collection...
Pete Tong is a true legend of the dance music scene. He’s been involved in it for well over 30 years with his weekly radio one show ‘The Essential Selection’ a staple diet of house music fans around the globe. Through all the cuts and new faces to drop into Radio One over the years Pete has remained strong and still pumps out his weekly radio show each and every Friday as well as hosting the legendary ‘Essential Mix’. It’s difficult to imagine a Radio One without his show, long may it continue.
He does know a thing or two about house music having been through quite a few decades of change and evolution through the genre over the years. If he had to go through a deep history of the house music that has inspired him over the past few decades you would need quite a few CD’s to fit it all on. Thankfully for those pushed for time he’s put together a three disc highlight reel of some of the finest house tracks ever released stretching back to the late 80’s right up to the present day. The tracks he’s selected over the three discs are all ones that I would pick out as tunes which have inspired me to get into the world of dance music.
You will find classics from the likes of Leftfield, Orbital, Marshall Jefferon, Sasha, Faithless, Aphex Twin and The Chemical Brothers just to mention a few who feature on this three disc compilation. While you may have a fair few classic compilations already, you might not have one with so many essential tunes under the one box.
