It's the end of an era for hard dance as one of its legends will play at Frantic for one last time before hanging up his hard trance headphones. Phil Reynolds was there 17 years ago when it all began and will play his final 90 minute set for Frantic at their 17th birthday bash party later this month...
There was a time in the late 90's and early part of the 2000's where the hard dance scene was taking over the world. It was just after the trance movement came bursting through the sound of the harder beat started to become more talked about. It was 17 years ago that one of the hard dance scene most legendary brands was born with Frantic. Their longest serving resident and one of Frantic's founding fathers was Phil Reynolds who banged out some seriously hard beats that rumbled many a sound system across the globe. He produced a few of the scene biggest tunes back in the day to.
As time moves on, so do peoples directions and Phil is moving away from the hard dance scene to start a new chapter in styles elsewhere. Before he does though, he’s got one last hard trance set for Frantic’s 17th anniversary party coming up at the end of this month. It’s a passing of the baton as he moves on for the new generation pumping fresh life into the hard dance scene. He has some fellow icons with him you may remember with Andy Whitby, Rob Tissera, Steve Hill , Andy Farley and K90 knocking out a few beats.
For those of my generation it’s the end of an era and if you can get along to this one to give Phil a good send off as he heads away from Frantic onto pastures new. If you check out the Frantic Facebook page you can watch Phil’s announcement of his final gig and his memories of Frantic from the past 17 years.
