The darker side of Perfecto gives light to another release from 2Symmetry as they unveil two new progressive beasts in Loophole and Nordkapp. Two tracks that have been featuring a lot in Paul Oakenfold's sets of late and its easy to see why...
It's good to see Perfecto back with the black after bringing the darker sub label back to life. It’s a label that’s revels in the dark and progressive sound and they have a very exiting duo on their forthcoming release. 2Symmetry is the brainchild of Croatian duo Jakov Domitrek and Tino Grzunov. They are a fairly new name on the scene and this is their first outing on the darker side of Perfecto. This is not the first time they have c aught the ear of Perfecto though having release a two track EP on the main label back in March, for which Paul Oakenfold did a cheeky edit of on ‘Myragion’. The new release is a two track feast of progressive delights with Loophole and Nordkapp.
Release date: 29th September / Perfecto Black
:: Loophole :: Nordkapp
Being a regular listener to Paul Oakenfolds radio shows there is no doubt you will have heard these two tracks already. The progressive style that both these tunes process fits in perfectly with the refreshed Perfecto Black label. You will find some very tasty melodies within the two but the mood is dark, the bass line is deep and the kick on both tracks goes off with a right wallop. Loophole in particular builds up the layers beautifully and has that aggressive percussion element to it that gets the toe tapping. That’s what these two tracks do, build up the layers and invite you to take the progressive trip from the first beat all the way to the last. It’s very difficult to decide which one of these I prefer the most as they are both excellent. The funky little two step beats on the strangely named Nordkapp are a nice touch, as is the main riff sweeping over the track. There is also a very well used vocal sample on Loophole that will catch your ear.
Conclusion:
Two progressive gems from this upcoming duo 2Symmetry which should further their reputation as a production team to keep an ear out for in the future. With the support of Paul Oakenfold and many other top names the future is rosy, especially if they continue to bang out tracks like these two.
