The Militant Artists have added another high profile audio soldier to their ranks this weeks with the signing of underground trance producer Magnus to the group. He joins the likes of Chris Hampshire, Scott Bond, Lostly and Thomas Datt in the fight for good trance music around the world...
Militant Artists are proud to announce the latest addition to their line-up. Magnus has released his cutting edge, psy-influenced sound on some of the biggest trance labels including Discover Records, Pharmacy Music, JOOF Recordings , Rebooted, Perfecto Fluoro and Borderline Music His tracks have also appeared on numerous compilations, the most recent of which being Simon Patterson Trance Nation - released earlier this month. He has also had a massive eight plays on A State Of Trance. February saw his UK debut at Gatecrasher REBOOTED, creating a surge of interest in this talented DJ. He joins the solid line up which already includes Scott Bond, Manuel Le Saux, Thomas Datt, Lostly, Oberon, Chris Hampshire, Gary Maguire, Bissen, Origin, DJ Rich Smith and Astuni.
CURRENT INTEL ON MAGNUS
Originally from Maryland, Mike Wadel AKA Magnus has called Seattle his home for the past decade. His career to date has seen releases across many of the biggest and most respected trance labels, including Discover Records, Pharmacy, JOOF, Perfecto Fluoro, Solarswarm and Borderline.
Magnus’s tracks have appeared on CD compilations by Armada, Perfecto, Ministry of Sound and Moist Music and have also ranked in the Top 10 charts on Beatport. His productions have also been played on countless radio shows, including a massive eight plays on “A State of Trance”.
In 2009, Magnus won the “Sean Tyas Melbourne Remix” competition on Discover Records, under his alias Michael Lee. In 2011 his first album “Signal Strength” was released on JOOF. That same year, Magnus began working with Perfecto, releasing a Magnus Dub remix of “I'm Alive” by Paul Oakenfold and Infected Mushroom, as well as his original track “Velvet”. More recently, Magnus has been working on collaborations with Activa, Thomas Datt, John Dopping, Shake and Sinerider. His EP entitled “Render One” was released in May of 2014 on Perfecto Fluoro.
2015 has started with a flourish with his track “Neon Division” appearing exclusively on Simon Patterson’s “Trance Nation” compilation for Ministry of Sound in April. He also saw his UK debut at iconic trance event Gatecrasher REBOOTED in February, which has opened the floodgates and spiked interest Internationally.
Magnus has often been referred to as a crossover artist, combining the elements of trance, tech-trance and psy-trance, to create a unique signature sound and one which is fast making him one of the most sought after artist in both the trance and psy-trance arenas.
