Following the release of the Beatport Pulse Chart #1 ‘Muda’, and with a destined-to-be-mindblowing debut album hitting stores September 7, WSTLNDR summons ‘Nyx’ - ‘Atmostopia’ second extraordinary single...
The studio brainchild of Bolier (pka Dutch DJ/producer Leon Bolier), WSTLNDR is his new ‘no walls’ audio-venture - one that’s slave to nothing more than its own boundless musical architecture. True to it ‘no-mandate mandate’, ‘Nyx’ hangs a sharp right from the warped Kraftwerk-like brass of ‘Muda’, delivering this summer an impossible to forget six-minute-long sunset kiss-off ‘moment’.
Packed with tracks as enigmatically titled, as they are musically varied, with ‘Nyx’, ‘Atmostopia’ complex, experimentally flexible world expands again. Taken the album’s later stages, ‘Nyx’ is a beatific nod in the direction of the Balearics. Cool of tempo, with shuffling percussion loops, warm, empyrean pads & chords & seraphim harmonics, over its runtime it twists the codes of four or more electronic music sub-genres into one wonderful piece of electronic music.
Directed by Kiril Shmidov, the release of ‘Nyx’ is accompanied by an incredible official video. It depicts the story of two children, who, through an otherworldly intervention, receive the knowledge of how their forever-intertwined lives will play out together over the next 50 years.
