© onephatdeeva 2Finally Onephatdeeva Recordings it has their first release. Read about their first release, history and philosophy of the label. Also find out the upcoming releases.

History
Onephatdeeva Recordings, part of Onephatdeeva Productions is a new label set up earlier this year by Producer/Remixer and DJ, ATFC. Aydin The Funki Chile (ATFC) is best known for his previous top forty chart successes such as, ‘In & Out of My Life’, ‘Bad Habit’ and ‘Sleep Talk’, all released on the phenomenally successful Defected Records. Although Aydin has had amazing chart success, he continues to produce material aimed squarely at the dance floor – and it is for this reason Onephatdeeva Records has been formed. To release high quality production house tracks – some with a song, some without, but all with the hands in the air appeal that his Onephatdeeva name became synonymous with. Onephatdeeva Records will also eventually aim to display the breadth of musical styles and tastes that are in the air around ATFC Towers.

Philosophy of Label
As a new label, our aim is to create a self-run outlet for ATFC productions and, in time, the same for other producers. Initially, the style will be very much in the vein ATFC is already known for - uplifting, vocal led house with a twist on the age-old American formula. Those who have followed ATFC’s career from the beginning will know that he’s also dabbled in the odd jazzy breakbeat track and will use the label to experiment with different styles and tempos.

Artists
As a new label we’ll be concentrating on a small number of artists, primarily ATFC and new to Onephatdeeva Recordings, Giddy Aunt, who’s first release ‘Bounce, Bump, Jump, Shout’ has received support from Seb Fontaine (Essential Selection, Radio 1) and DJs such as Allister Whitehead and King Unique. Onephatdeeva Recordings also supports Lab Rat Recordings, set up for those two rats – ATFC and Warren Clarke. Previously signed productions include Feel the Need (Arista), Music is my way of Life (Soulfuric) and successful white labels, such as Suzi and Take me in your Arms. Their own label, will give the rats the freedom to get dirtier and deeper and Love/Jam, the first official Lab Rats Recordings release, is an perfect example of their darker side. From time to time, one off collaborations will surface, such as Shere Khan, allowing the artists involved to try something new or work with other artists.

Upcoming releases
ATFC Erotik – The Remixes, Onephatdeeva Recordings
Erotik – The Remixes (Wally Lopez & Dr Kucho and Warren Clarke) will be out in all good record shops this week. This debut release from Onephatdeeva Recordings delivers remixes of the storming peak time house bomb released by ATFC on white label last year. Wally Lopez and Dr Kucho provide a chunky tribal production with twisted bassline and razor sharp hi-hats, whilst Warren Clarke turns in a more driving ‘shirts off’ remix with tasty stabs and filters for those peak time plays.

Lab Rats – Love Jam/Go Deeper, Lab Rats Recordings
Fresh from their assault on Teddy Pendergrass’ ‘Take me in your arms Tonight’ (out now on white label), the Lab Rats have dimmed the lights in the studio, and gone all deep on yo ass! As a bit of an antidote to their more soulful outings, both ‘Love Jam’ with its twisted horn and ‘Go Deeper’ with it’s warped drums give you an insight into the darker side of the Rats……..This is for those of you who dug Suzi Creamcheeze! Due for release mid May.

Giddy Aunt - Bounce, Bump, Jump, Shout!, Onephatdeeva Recordings
“Oh my Giddy Aunt!” we shouted on hearing this blockhead mashup, and hence another OPD artist was born. We follow up the massive Erotik remixes with another slab of dirty driving house to keep you on your toes. Utilising the simple idea of a good break with a catchy vocal sample this fairly chunky outing for the label retains the funk and keeps the momentum for OPD004.......beware!

Exclusive
Marshall Jefferson and Serge Imhof ‘69%’
This track licensed from Switzerland features Marshall on vocals in typically spaced out fashion. ‘What is 69%? Why is 69%? Why is 7’UP’? Why is Micro’soft’? Will feature mixes by ATFC and eagerly awaited accapella!

Thanks to Claire Gooding for sorting out all these information.
