If your into trance like me then you won't need any brief on who Craig Connelly is, just the information that he has a new single out on Armin's 'A State Of Trance' label and its a bit of an epic...
When I see a new Craig Connelly track it’s a safe bet I know what to expect. The twist in that statement is when it starts to play the expectation I had turns into a complete surprise. Trance has far too many artists who change their style but there are a few, Craig for me, being one who sticks to a pattern. That is not a bad thing, when that solid pattern is a good one. Craig has been producing for some years now starting off on Garuda after being spotted by Gareth Emery. In 2015 Armin called him up to his network of labels with his new single bursting out of his ‘A State Of Trance’ imprint. This new one is a little bit of ‘History’ in the making.
:: Available through Beatport right now!
:: Original Mix :: Radio Edit
This is trance as it should be for me, uplifting and down right banging. While you might think every melody has been exhausted there are artists like Craig who have a new arsenal ready for deployment. ‘History’ is one banging trance tune with some addictive builds leading up to what can only be described as a truly epic melody. It’s a Melody that forms from a break and while many tunes don’t follow on, this one continues right through the moment the beat drops back in. It’s in a way a little traditional uplifting trance pattern but is executed magnificently. The background chord changes drive real atmosphere into the tune. This is full on from start to finish.
Conclusion:
This is a real fist pumper from the first bar to the last and another reason why the established trance icons have faith in this very talented producers beats. If Pete Tong did essential new trance tunes, with this new one from Craig Connelly he would not have a hard choice for a winner this week.
