Lost Witness had their big breakthrough into the trance scene with Red Sun Rising which marked the epic Balearic trance in 1999. Everyone says that this is one of the best productions by them. There is another production that made a big buzz at the trance scene last year, Cold play - Trouble remix, a track that never saw the light. This year, they are back with “Did I Dream” which was made two years ago and has now been rewritten to get released on Data.
Original Mix There isn’t much to say about it. A typical Balearic trance single. It starts slow and keeps moving with an euphoric rhythm and awesome vocals all the way to the end. However, the remixes are doing the real damage, read on.
Minimalistix Remix This is the latest add on this epic trance single. It gives another breath to the track. It got the usual minimalistix’s elements which make it totally different from the original. Then we meet the break where piano and vocals are coming in but again when the break explodes, it has nothing to do with the original. It drives you into another dimension with the classic Belgian euphoric trance riffs. Awesome remix!
DJ Tiesto Remix The man, who has been remixing massively the last months, is back to work on a Balearic single. He gives a harder sound to the track and this time, not with the usual euphoric Tiesto sound. It got a bit of progressive sound on it but afterall, vocals are bringing it back on the euphoric side. After the middle it goes into a break which turns the track totally back on the trance side without the progressive elements in the beginning. It is different work from Tiesto which will get loved or hated. It is your choice.
Bomb Factory Remix This is another disguise from Simon Paul. It shows us another side of his musical taste. It brings some interesting beats into the track, more like tribal elements in fact. It keeps the vocals combined with beats and not all over them like all other remixes. A very different and interesting remix at itself.
People will wonder where I got all these remixes and the original mix from. Dj Tiesto and Bomb Factory were on Data promo which has been around for over two months now. About the original mix and the minimalistix mix, it got into my hands under the form of a CD promo on Data which, supposedly, will become the official CDS in UK.
It is a very tight production by Lost Witness. It got very good remixes and it will be stuck around in the summer time for sure.
