Fire send out another stormer on there 999 copy limited editions. This has all the masterful production skills that has seen the other tracks in the 999 series so sought after!
One sided (as ever!)
It starts out as though its going to be a mellow affair, flowing through a couple of synths. The bassline dominates that track still maintaining a minimal approach. Added females harmonics echo to provide a twisted edge. An 80's sounding effect is added. It sounds as though you are listening to it through the radio-with the kind of distortion used. The bassline gets heavier as the distortion erupts and fades in time. The effects remind me of an early nineties rave anthem. It hits the break dropping to again distorted vocals, which bounce off some quality reverbed effects. Building up ready to stomp back into action, it teases you into getting with it. It bursts back into gear, full of the energy it left with. The bassline more dominent as ever, rolls on, contrasting the synths. Drawing you to a close you are expectant of a new twist.....
'The Jam' is an absolute quality production, because for me it shows something original, as have all the 999 series. They go for something which not to many have gone for in recent times. The whole sound created makes me feel like im part of the early nineties rave scene, ebbed with the vocal which sounds like its taken from an early sasha set @ shellys. Great production from a quality label!
