© www.time-warp.de[i:Vibes] presents the Review of one of the biggest Techno Events in germany! It took place on the 6th April 2002 for 19 hours in Mannheim, Germany with thousands of people! What a night!

There has been a long history over TIME WARP Parties in Germany.
The first TIME WARP took place at the same location as this year, the Mannheim Maimarkt Halls. Back in 1994, only 5 DJ's and few Live Acts were rocking the place.

Over the years, TIME WARP developed itself as one of the biggest indoor events in Germany. Only the biggest names in Techno, Acid, Minimal, Tribal and Trance were invited to spin their decks for the audience. Every time another nice design was presented to all visitors as well as astonishing lightshows and a massive sound system.

TIME WARP is not only a party - and has never been. It is a complete Techno Festival with all you could imagine. Up to 5 huge floors, featuring nearly all the styles of electronic music. Big Bars with stylish drinks and great food, a huge Chill- out Areas as well as little shopy to buy all you need for this event - from t-shirts to flashlights that you can wear around your neck.

But that is not all TIME WARP has to give this year - here comes the complete overview about what was happening that night....

It was hard to get in. Time Warp started at 19:30 cet, but even at 19:00 hundreds of people were waiting to get in at the maon entrance. It was unbelievable how many people want to be there from the first second!

As TIME WARP stands for quality. Quality in music, DJ's, Live Acts, Decoration and location, people from all across Europe have come to celebrate the start of this years "summer techno season"

All in all, a lot of techno enthusiasts have come to encounter this years time warp, We could not tell you how many people have been there but it must have been over 6000 people, maybe even more.

Floor 1:

Marc Bean, W.J. Henze and Funk D Void (live) were spinning their decks at first and the floor was filled at once. Here you could not resist to dance from the first moment! Techno & Acid at it's best! Lots of Beamers and Video Projections were enlightning the floor while everybody was going Crazy. Definately a good start!

When Jeff Mills started his Set, the crowd applauded and honoured this big man of techno and he was doing a really great job. Richie Hawtin was next taking everybody to his limits.

Unfortunately Carl Cox was ill at that time, we expected him to be the next DJ performing on Floor one. But nevermind, Green Velvet was next! Whatta Live Act! Now we all understand why green velvet is called like this - because he has green hair! La La Land was played again and again in every possible remix and great effects, underlined by some dancers in reflecting and fluorescent suits. Whatta Night!

.... will be continued at the end.....

Floor 2 : Deep Space

At this floor, as well as on floor one - was played techno. DJ Erg, Gadgets and Umek were doing the start. Great sets so far- but who came next was completely rocking the place: DJ RUSH! All techno lovers know his newest release and it was played at the start of his set! Whatta Intro! Everybody was dancing!
Frank Lorber and Thomas P Heckmann were next pushing everybody forward. But what followed then was the complete Highlight of the evening.

Floor 1&2 - The Showdown

At 6:30 nearly everybody rushed to floor 1 to see the grand master SVEN VAETH himself performing. Whatta start! This man was totally rocking the place! Sven understands how to make people happy. The newest never before heard tracks and effects. From totally hard techno to melodic sequences. HE was the man of the night - until half an hour later...
On Area 2 the "Master of Schranz" f, CHRIS LIEBING - performing! This man was going crazy while spinning his decks! You can see his enthisiasm in his smile, his dancing behind the turntables - I have never seen a man enjoying his "work" more! He was playing out the loudest "ear - destroying" and most pumping tracks we ever heard!
Now we had to decide to who to listen - Chris Liebing or Sven Vaeth! So we switched floors every half an hour, that was really hard cause these 2 floors were overcrowded! Anyway, we made it and enjoyed the rest of their sets!

The Ambient Chill- Out:

You believed you are in a starship! On the left and right side there were projections of stars flying by, ships, planets and comets - 3 "windowsx" on the right side and 3 on the left! You could imagine you are the captain sitting on a control panel at the front of the ship with a huge window and see the stars flying by. They really gave you the impression you are flying! Really relaxing and awesome to sit there and watch...

The Tribal / House / DiskoFloor:

Located in the Broadway, a Club connected to the Maimarkt Halls with 2 floors. A House/Disko- floor which we didn't visit and a Tribal/ Trance floor on which we met Talla 2 XLC and DJ DAG! These 2 men are the chice if you like trance. Talla was playing an awesome set with never heard intelligent and floating melodies. Dag was playing progressive and uplifting Trance at it'S best! At that time, we have been a little tired, but who can stand still when hearing Trance - Nobody! So I enjoyed a few hours there and then Returning to the other floors.

All in All / Overview

We cannot describe this night in a few words - as you can see !!!
All we can tell you is if you ever have the chance to be in Germany in April - Visit the Time Warp! An indoor event definately cannot be better than this! - AWESOME -
A big Thank you to all people who made an event like this possibe. Unbelievable.
The whole night from 7pm - 3pm was filled with energy. We are impressed.
