Read about their first release, history and philosophy of the label. Also find out the upcoming releases.
History Label was started in April 2001 by Phil Howells after leaving his position as head of A&R at FFRR / London as Pete Tongs right ear. So, we have been rocking the city for a year now. We have put out 2 albums. "Kittenz and Thee Glitz" Felix da Housecat's last album which , against stiff opposition from air, daft punk , basement jaxx and others succeeded in winning album of the year at last years Muzik awards. We have literally just released our second artist album FC Kahuna's 'Mindset to Cycle' which we have high hopes for and also our first compilation 'Futurism' complete in City Rockers pink which is our guide to what we believe will be one of the biggest sounds of this year 'electropop'. we are still only a wee company believe it or not and all work extreme hard to keep you supplied with great new music (and merchandise) but if there's something that's gone wrong and you need a scapegoat or someone to blame please contact Phil Howells
Philosophy of Label Phil would say that we want things to have attitude. Essentially we are about the spirit of punk-rock and acid house at the same time as being here to introduce you to cosmically brilliant pop music.
Artists Our most well known artists are Felix da Housecat, FC Kahuna and "soon to be massive" Tiga & Zyntherius. Other interesting acts are Northern Lite, Daniel Diamond, Freddy & Herman and differentGear As well as Eva Abraham who is a female folk singer with the most amazing voice.
Upcoming Releases Kittenz and thee Glitz Album A limited remixed re-release of the album in a double cd package later on in the summer.
