This is one of the tunes made big by Armin Van Buuren on his weekly ID-T radio show. He played it for several weeks in a row, read on to know why…
This song has made quite an impact on the listeners of Armin’s radio-show, it seized you with the haunting vocals, the driving melody, the fearsome bass. The follow up to this song has already been made and is called ‘Being Single’, and again, Armin has played it already.
Tracklisting: A: Lonely People AA: She’s Drifting
A: Lonely People Starting off quite calme, nothing too special, till about half a minute into the song, you hear this special sound, which is unique in its sort. That sound is throughout the whole song. After about two minutes, you get hit around the ears with another layer, a deep sounding layer.
And then the breakdown happens, with a voice that is so haunting, it reminds me of some horror movie. The lyrics are about being lonely, and everything that goes with it. GREAT vocals in my opinion, and spooky at the same time. Nice touch. After the breakdown, you get the combination of the bass, the melody, and all other layers, even the special sound is still in there. And the vocals are still there, but not real sentences, more singing here and there.
This is a unique song, unheard of before, and it won’t surprise me if it goes on numerous compilations, and maybe even a chart entry?? Who knows??
AA: She’s Drifting Starting with a good bass, and some tribal elements to it. But it keeps a lot of the stuff used in Lonely People, but the things added this song, make it a completely new track.
The breakdown is great once again, but no vocals used here. I kinda miss them in this song. It is obvious that Lonely People is a great song, much better then She’s Drifting.
Overall: two great tunes, which you should have in your record case!! Go buy them!!
