 Its time to take a Balearic trip for the ninth time as Roger Shah announces the new edition of his blissful compilation series Magic Island…
The setting sun, the glitter of the sun over a warm sea setting beach backdrop can only require one form of compilation series to go with it. It has to be Magic Island. Even if you’re nowhere near a beach and the sun is nowhere to be seen with the only backdrop you have in sight a grey, drizzle one just close your eyes and take a virtual tour with the audio backdrop crafted by Roger Shah. The series has welcome eight volumes so far, with each having its down individual flavour to it.
It’s a series which you would say Roger is most known for and one I’m sure many of you have tucked away in the collection. The ninth edition has been announced by Roger and will be released later on this month through Black Hole Recordings on his Magic Island imprint. The latest edition is one which Roger has spent the longest to compile with a tone of music available. The standard two disc CD mix is complemented by a huge 48 track digital release featuring over three and a half hours worth of music. That is some serious Balearic action to be had and the whole range of sounds can be found within either format you chose to take advantage of.
