What if whatever life throws at us could be, at the same time, both a challenge and an opportunity?
I was pondering big questions like these, even before our whole world was thrown upside down. Before it all stopped, as if to take one deep breath. And then, all of a sudden, I became unwell and realised I had it. I was going to bed, wondering if I'd wake up the following morning.
Or the fact that if I didn't wake up, maybe no-one would know. Coming in touch with the fragility of life, and fear like that, is a humbling, exhausting experience. This global situation has forced us all to face a lot of uncertainty and fear.
The negative side of this situation - the stress, the anxiety - is easy to see. But what about the positives? I have witnessed firsthand the kindness of neighbours and families and friends becoming closer than ever. Even our pets are happier from being closer to their human companions.
The world is taking one deep breath. What if this is an opportunity for each of us to do the same? To stop, even for a moment, and find something really beautiful in this moment. And to give it our full attention.
But more importantly. To #staythefuckhome.
