 Following the release of ‘HEAVENLY’, her critically-applauded debut LP, the last weeks and months have seen HALIENE’ light up the sky with an impossible-to-miss array of singles, remixes and collaborations.
The middle of October saw Richard Reghelini cast an incredible DVRKCLOUD remix over her ‘Reach Across The Sky’ and with November here it’s now the indomitable Nifra’s turn to step up. With it, the Slovakian-born/Netherlands-based producer/spinner has gifted ‘Underneath My Skin’ a spectacular dancefloor translation.
It’s no exaggeration to say that from amongst ‘HEAVENLY’ high achieving tracks, ‘Underneath My Skin’ struck a particularly big chord with fans. With its cooler tone, HALIENE’s heart-on-sleeve lyrics and her seraphim vocals, it delivered an emotionally annihilating moment tale.
With her interpretation, Nifra pulls off the seemingly impossible, managing to retain all the heartfelt meaning of HALIENE’s song, whilst landing it centre square of the clubfloor. Advancing its tempo to a primetime pace, she set its verses against locomotive bass and drums, while its chorus is met by poignant grand piano, powerfully orchestral strings and synths that endlessly uplift.
