The Last Festival In Croatia For Defected?

There will be a lot going on next year for house label Defected as it ticks over 25 years in the game, which for an independent record label these days is quite some going. Their CEO and head of the food music chain Wez Saunders sent out a letter this week talking about their festivals plans for this year and the possibility of some making way as next year they take the music to more places around the globe. It’s all in his communication below.

A WORD FROM WEZ SAUNDERS

Dear Defected family,

Hope you are all well. It’s been a moment.

At the time of writing, we’re coming off the back of a run of events across the world, including the final Defected Printworks in London, parties in Paris, Australia, Bali and multiple events in the USA.

We have recently announced Phase 2 for Croatia, our Defected Malta & Defected Ibiza line-ups and yesterday we announced our full Glitterbox Ibiza programme. It’s been a busy start to the year, and I am very happy with how 2023 is shaping up.

As we get set to throw these parties – and release some amazing music from familiar and new talent – I have one eye on the fact that 2024 will be the 25th anniversary for Defected Records. This will bring more from ‘Defected Worldwide’ than ever before, and you can expect to hear more on the ideas we are cooking up for that at Defected HQ very soon.

It was amazing to hear feedback from so many of you in Malta that joining us to party in a destination that you had not visited before was the highlight of your year. This got me thinking: should we take Defected festivals on the road next year? I would love to hear your thoughts on this (genuinely, hit us up at croatia@defected.com with your views). Could this be our last Defected Croatia festival…?

Regardless, this August we return with a bang – once again to the beautiful Garden Resort, Tisno for 6 days and nights of house hedonism. We have one final announcement planned for Phase 3 (incoming, end of March) and will be going on sale with Boat Parties very soon. The festival is so special to us all, and we hope you agree that this year’s festival will be the best to date.

I look forward to seeing you this summer – if not in Croatia, in Ibiza, Malta or somewhere else… Bring on the sunshine, and bring on the house music.
