Just what is James Holden up to these days? Well, over on UK dance publication Mixmag’s website they have a word with James on the even of a new artist album release…
Cast your memory back to the early 2000’s and I’m pretty sure you will remember a few James Holden records and remixes. One of his most popular and well known would be his collaboration with Julie Thompson for the track called ‘Nothing’. That’s the record I remember him most by and a few mixes on Global Underground and the Essential mix.
It’s been a while since I have heard anything from him recently but he is still out there dropping the beats, albeit in an alternative style to what I used to remember him for. Not to fear though, he’s not gone down the Tiesto route.
He has been speaking to UK dance publication Mixmag this week as he will be releasing his first artist collection for over a decade this week. The new album is called ‘Imagine This Is A High-Dimensional Space of All Possibilities’ and as you can imagine from the tile its full of some very alternative stuff. There are a few tracks out from the album right now and they do back up my claim there.
I’ve put a few links to those below along with one to the Mixmag interview which is a great insight into what the musical mind that is James Holden is like today.
:: James Holden Interview With Mixmag :: James Holden - Common Land :: James Holden - In The End You'll Know
The new artist album from James will be released Friday 31st March and be pre-ordered right now on Beatport.
