Biography:
Nigel Dawson is a DJ known for his definitive house sets varying from the deeper and subtle music to the full on progressive and has built a solid reputation working with the likes of Cream, Ministry of Sound and, of course, Renaissance. In 1992 Renaissance was in it's infancy. Residents were Sasha and Digweed; esteemed company to say the least, making it one of the hardest stages on which to make an impression, but impress Nigel did and it forged his own residence which has survived to this day.
Along the way this talent has established him as a regular on the UK club scene and he has been synonymous of the quality parties at The Cross in London as sole resident but also can be found playing at Media in Nottingham to his and their home crowd on a regular basis. If that weren't enough he also guests at many of the clubs in the UK and Worldwide and as a result Nigel is now established an impeccable global reputation.
In 1996 Nigel made the logical progression into studio production. From this, his pseudonym "Dominion" was born and his first track/act soon found a home on Whoop! Records. Entitled " The Gate ", it was an instant success with the progressive Mafia and under his Dominion psuedename Nigel has gone on to record a further six successful singles for Whoop! Since then, he has worked with Andy Holt of Redanka on their single East to West which made it big onto Rhythm Syndicate in 2001 and recieved big big plays from the big jocks
Nigel has also mixed the two previous Whoop! compilation and was asked back to carry on the series by popular demand and the fact that his DJ name has grown overtime Globally to the point that his ‘Renaissance Presents…’ compilation with lan Ossia sold a staggering forty thousand copies and Nigel still has people saying its one of their favourite CD’s!
For 2002, Dominion looks set to possibly release 2 more singles and Nigel Dawson can be found smashing the dance floors at The Cross, so be sure to check it out if you're in town!
