Another Scandinavian release comes flying across Europe in a vocal trance sort of way, bringing in a great melody and lovely synths. Up and coming producer? See for yourself.
INNER MOTION Seven Seals (Forever Lost Someone) Behind the name Inner Motion you find one of Norways most exciting new producers: Vidar Nord. He has been making music since the mid-80's and began his career composing synth tunes inspired by names like Jean Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode, Vangelis and William Orbit. In the early 90's Norwegian radios started playing his demos and since then he has worked with serveral big names in Norway incl. Hanaumi & Planet North. Now the attention from abroad is high due to his production of Dj Stigma "The Answer". A major trance anthem already played by all the big dj's around the globe. Vidar has a special gift in his abillity to combine the strong melody and hookline with a cool groove. On his new release Inner Motion "Seven Seals" you really hear this.
1. Radio Edit 2. Scarab Mix
With the radio edit coming through as a shortened original mix, you immediately get a picture of how the full track was intended to turn out.
Almost immediately, the euro-esque vocals pop in and bring this track towards chart territory with this track lying somewhere in between Alice Deejay and Solar Stone, and it depends on how you look at it, whether its the radio aimed vocals or the chuggy bassline for the dancefloors, it'll have you up on your feet with its breezy feeling and chunky feel at the same time.
The vocals are a nice compliment to it and although may not appeal to some, the vocal lovers will find this a nice track to add to their collection and its definitely worth a listen. Personally this mix doesn't do it for me but I am sure it will for some!
The Scarab Mix is definitely the better of the 2 tracks bringing in a more uptempo and uplifting production and adds a bit of dub effect on the vocals which make it more appealing.
With a beautiful break at around the 4 minute mark, it does bring joy to my ears and the Tiesto like synths which come through after the break are rather nice. If you're familiar with the stuff which Magik Muzik have been putting forward, then this is likely to be up your street. And to wrap it up the track comes to a crescendo in the 2nd half, going towards a Ferry Corsten style riff and bigfloor vocals.
I am sure this track would make good play in a Tillman Uhrmacher or Talla 2XLC track if there were dubs of it but the overall aim for this I think may be intended more for the home listener and perhaps the more trance orientated clubs.
It's hard to decide whether I like the track or not, and I guess it would depend more on the mood and which mix than the overall production itself. At this moment in time, I'd give it a 6.5/10
Released on 30th of September on Nordic Records
