Trance producers Galen Behr and Robert Burns join forces to produce this release on Yakuza. Each puts in their own special mix...
:: Galen Behr & Robert Burns - 'Til We Meet Again :: Yakuza :: YAK012
A: 'Till We Meet Again (Galen Behr Mix) Galen Behr has given this track a great uplifting feeling to it. There is a soft synth presence from near the outset and this is also used as a nice cushion that the lead melody uses to grow and gain more of a foothold as the track develops. Plus the bass is smooth and warm and it rolls along with the beats providing an excellent trancey flow. The lead melody, or rather hookline, is quite simple, but it latches onto that warm uplifting feeling, so when coupled with some backing synths and chord changes, you've got something pretty anthemic on your hands. The hook has a long buildup section which stores plenty of energy ready for the drop which is let out in a euphoric, melodic frenzy. A winning tune for sure!
B: 'Til We Meet Again (Robert Burns Mix) Robert Burns demonstrates his techy and dark nature here. Although the beginning of this remix is quite deceptive. The lead synths appears to come in very early, playing a stabbed rhythm over a deep and moody combination of bass drum and percussion. Then just as quickly, we have a melodic break. It may seem quiet, a bit too quiet. That's because it is. After a few repetitions of the sweet, trancey melody, the track reveals itself in a surge of techy bass and coarse stabbed synth rhythms. Ooh such driving dark energy. It really is deep and just pulses along in a very Sam Sharp kind of style. There is one more melodic break, which is simply to allow the track to return again with force. Every time I hear it, it's just awesome. This is what tech-trance is about.
Conclusion:
An excellent record! Galen Behr puts in the trancey anthem with a really catchy (and it is catchy) hook and Robert Burns gets his tech out and puts in a dark and driving number of a remix. Wicked!
